The Development

St Simon Street is a transformative six-storey development located alongside the River Irwell in Salford. It will deliver 42 high-quality one-bedroom apartments for individuals with low support needs who are moving on from homelessness. Two of the homes will be allocated to Salford City Council to provide emergency accommodation for homeless families. The scheme is designed to promote long-term independence, with modern, open-plan apartments and centralised laundry facilities. Residents will be supported for up to two years by Salford City Council to help them prepare for permanent tenancies. A community-first ethos sits at the heart of the development, with ground-floor space dedicated to support services that encourage training, employment, and wellbeing for both residents and the wider community. Set for completion in late 2026, St Simon Street will not only provide much-needed social housing, but also bring new life to a previously underused brownfield site, creating a vibrant, connected riverside community.
