Official Opening of Embankment Exchange, Salford

We were delighted to host the Labour North West Drinks Reception at our Embankment Exchange development in Salford, celebrating the completion of this major project and the positive impact it brings to the region.

The event, sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Housing, welcomed key political and industry leaders including Rt Hon Lucy Powell MP, Jim McMahon MP, Minister of State for Local Government and English Devolution, Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett, Rebecca Long-Bailey MP, and Liam Robinson, Leader of Liverpool City Council, alongside other MPs and councillors from Greater Manchester.

Supported by the Chartered Institute of Housing, the event showcased how collaboration between developers and government can drive regeneration, housing delivery, and long-term community benefit.

Designed to highlight Legacie’s ongoing contribution to regeneration and housing delivery, the evening featured an official opening and development tour, followed by a series of speeches and a drinks reception.

Key themes included the importance of collaboration in regeneration, and the role developers can play in helping meet the government’s 1.5 million new homes target. Also, the importance of responsible development, creating local opportunities, and the role of businesses with a social purpose—highlighting Legacie’s work through initiatives like the Second Chance and Bright Futures programmes.

Paul Dennett, Salford City Mayor said:

“…What is really important is how, through development, we create jobs and opportunities for people. Legacie really understands that and wants to work with Salford and beyond to deliver on that agenda.”

Rebecca Long-Bailey, MP for Salford and Eccles said:

“It’s fantastic to see the social conscience of the developer—the programme of rehabilitating ex-offenders into the building industry is hugely important. So is the work they’re doing to support social housing across the North West. These are the stories we need to hear more of…”

A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the positive conversations throughout the evening. We look forward to ongoing collaboration.
